Curated Rugs from our Lake Home

The Rugs I’m Loving for Our Lake House

One of my favorite ways to make a house feel finished is with rugs. They instantly add warmth, texture, and personality—and at our lake house, I’ve been especially drawn to rugs that feel collected rather than overly decorated.

Lately, I’ve been picking up quite a few rugs from Amazon and Wayfair, and I have to say, I’m loving the mix. There’s something about layering in a beautiful vintage-inspired rug that makes a space feel like it has evolved over time, which is exactly the look I want for the lake house. I go between the two sites depending upon the price, so for many rugs below I’ll be linking both sites.

My Love for Loloi Rugs

If you’ve followed my decorating style for any amount of time, you probably already know that I have a serious love for Loloi rugs—especially the collections designed with Amber Lewis.

Amber Lewis has such a distinct aesthetic: relaxed California style with a collected, vintage feel. Her rooms never look overly styled. They have that perfect balance of old and new, with natural textures, weathered woods, muted colors, and patterns that feel timeless without being fussy.

That’s exactly what I love about her rugs. They bring in pattern and character without taking over the room. The colors tend to feel beautifully lived-in—soft neutrals, faded blues, warm taupes, terracotta, and earthy tones that work so well with the more casual, natural feel I’m going for at the lake.

For me, the Amber Lewis look is all about comfortable, collected, and a little imperfect. And honestly, that is exactly how I want our lake house to feel.

Amazon + Wayfair Finds

Are my go to sites to buy these rugs- because they have the best deals. I love using these retailers for rugs because you can experiment with different sizes, patterns, and price points without feeling like every rug purchase has to be a major investment. In addition, Amazon has a very easy return process should a rug size or pattern not work out.

For a lake house, I especially like rugs that have a vintage or faded look. They hide a little more of everyday life, add warmth to hardwood floors, and make rooms feel much cozier.

And I’m not afraid to mix them. I think the secret to getting that collected look is not having every rug match perfectly. Instead, I like finding pieces that share similar colors or tones so everything feels connected without looking like it came as a set.

The Bordeaux Rug in Our Dining Room

One of the rugs I’m particularly loving right now is the Bordeaux rug from Ruggable.

I originally used it in our dining room, where it adds just the right amount of color and pattern underneath the table. I love that it feels a little vintage and traditional while still working with the more relaxed style of the lake house.

And because I loved it so much, I ended up using the same Bordeaux rug as our kitchen runner.

That’s one of the things I appreciate about a rug like this—it can move around and work in different spaces. The vintage-inspired look gives the room character, while the washable construction makes it especially practical for a kitchen and a house that actually gets lived in.

The kitchen is definitely one of those places where I want pretty and practical. A runner softens the space, adds warmth, and makes the kitchen feel much more finished, but being able to wash it is a huge bonus.

The Little Amazon Find I Use on Almost Every Rug

And one small thing I’ve started using that makes a huge difference: these little rug gripper corners from Amazon.

If you’ve ever put down a rug only to have the corners curl up or shift around, you know exactly what I mean. These little grippers help keep the corners in place and give the rugs a much more finished look.

They’re especially helpful with the lighter-weight rugs I’ve been using around the lake house. I love a rug that looks effortlessly thrown down—but I definitely don't want it actually moving around every time someone walks across it!

Sometimes it’s the tiny practical things that make the biggest difference.

Shop the Look

I’m rounding up some of my favorite rug finds below so you can easily shop the look. I’ll be adding photos and direct links to each one, but these are the pieces I’ve been loving for creating that relaxed, collected lake-house feel.
